Service Saturdays

... are generally scheduled for the second Saturday of the month, from May to October...

There is a large tree “growing” in the atrium, with new pieces being added each week.
This is a "Service Tree".

Deeply rooted in Scripture, it calls us to be Jesus' hands and feet in our community. The tree reaches out its branches, each of them representing a different service project that will be tackled on an upcomming “Service Saturday”.

On the branches are leaves, which hold the names of people who will be working on that particular task or project. The trunk, which supports the branches, bears the names of people who will be working at the church to get lunch ready for the workers to enjoy after a morning of hard work.

If you would like to help make a difference for people in need and are willing to give up a Saturday morning to bless others, please stop by the Service Tree today and write your name on a leaf. Then indicate the “branch of service” that you would like to participate in by pinning your leaf on that branch.

A typical Saturday looks like this:

8:30am
: meet at the church, light refreshments, sign waivers, safety talk, assign tasks, gather tools and safety equipment, meet the team, get directions, prayer of blessing.

9:00am – noon: work at the assigned site.

12:00 pm: return to the church for lunch and share how it went, report job progress, report any problems you experienced.

1:00 pm: clean up and leave for home.
