Service Saturdays

... an extension of the Helping Hands ministry...

This is a group of volunteers who help people who are in need of assistance that is not available through government agencies or Community Care.  When someone is sick, injured or very frail, and can't afford to hire someone to do the task they need done, we step in to lend a hand.

When a project requires only 2-3 people, we refer to the Helping Hands volunteers.  But, when several volunteers are required, we schedule it as a Service Saturday project.

We offer one-time services like yard work and small home repairs, among other things.  There is no guarantee that we can help but, when you call us with a problem, we'll do our best to find the volunteers with the skills for the job.

A typical Saturday looks like this:

8:30am: meet at the church, light refreshments, sign emergency contact forms, safety talk, assign tasks, gather tools and safety equipment, meet the team, get directions, prayer of blessing before we depart.

9:00am-noon: work at the assigned site.

12:00 pm: return to the church for lunch and share how it went, report job progress, report any problems you experienced.

1:00 pm: clean up and leave for home.
